Deputy Martin Kenny asked the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources his views on recent reports that the Government’s €275 million national broadband plan to connect 1.8 million citizens to a minimum of 30 MBps broadband by 2020 is to be delayed for a year until 2017 and that it could be 2022 by the time all homes here have high-speed broadband; and the status of the projected completion date.
