- The key issue for SIMI in Budget 2020 is taxation policy in relation to motor vehicles, particularly VRT, Road Tax and BIK. In this context SIMI would like to see no tax increases on new cars, which would only reduce new car sales, with any increases focused on older more polluting used imported cars.

- We responded to the Irish Government's climate plan lobbying the Government to consider bio fuels for off grid heating. UKIFDA and its members feel strongly that a liquid low carbon fuel, can be part of the phased solution for Ireland’s Climate Plan and have been lobbying Government to consult with trade associations and businesses operating in the heating oil and fuel distribution sector on the work that is already being undertaken to develop a liquid low carbon fuel.
