- On behalf of the many charities represented by Charities Institute Ireland the CEO would like to ask that members of the Committee for Rural and Community Development might take the opportunity to remind critics at Christmas that: charities rely on the generosity of the Irish people; putting resources into marketing, fundraising & governance are not unnecessary overheads; that work also requires a mix of volunteers & professional staff and the sector is now regulated by an independent agency.
