Nursing Homes Ireland
· 3 returns
Health
- The governments plans to reward frontline healthcare workers for their efforts during the Covid19 pandemic.
- NHI noted the recent developments regarding Sláintecare. Stated concerns regarding the slow pace in implementation of reform within our health services are of concern too for NHI and mirror challenges presented within the nursing home sector. NHI has expressed strong concern regarding implementation of structural reform within the sector, as per Covid19 Expert Panel. The Expert Panel strategic recommendations are not being progressed with the expediency they require.
- The Temporary Assistance Payment Scheme (TAPS), which was implemented by Government to contribute towards the cost of nursing homes implementing intensified infection prevention control measures not covered by Fair Deal fees payable, was amongst the first financial supports to be withdrawn by Government, ceasing end of June. The cessation was despite nursing homes, understandably, having to continue to implement cost-heavy measures not encompassed under the fees payable by the State.
