AML issues impacting Gift cards - There is an exemption currently in place in relation to low-value emoney products like gift cards and it is potentially due to expire, this could have major consequences for gift cards and the wider industry
The Council have voted to increase commercial rates in Carlow, historically the county has some of the highest in the country. Busiensses cannot be used to make up council budget shortfdalls. Across the county many councils have not changes rates or only applied a minimal increase. the Carlow increase is one of the highest nationally
Historically the Council have not been great at connecting with an engaging with the constituency T.D's on a regular basis. There have been some recent improvements in this communicaiton, however it is vital that they work together for the Town, County and region.
