- 09-04-24 PQ to the Minister Will the minister provide : - a detailed account of the suckler brand developed, - ?where the details of the suckler brand can be viewed - ?a complete and audited breakdown of how the €6m allocated to Bord Bia was spent. - ?where the minutes of each quarterly meeting can be viewed by suckler farmers. - ?a monetary value of the additional benefit to each suckler farmer of what the new suckler brand developed can pay per kg of beef produced from Irish suckler cows.
- PQ to the Minister if he will consider how any benefit gained from the PGI logo can be fairly distributed along the supply chain. If he will monitor the use of the PGI Irish grass fed beef in trade through assessment of market information. If the PGI oversight committee was informed of/or consulted with before PGI status was awarded to beef placed on Italian shelves bearing a PGI label. The PGI application was agreed by the EU.
- What is the structure of the pedigree breed council of Ireland under the following headings: When were the last two pedigree breed council AGMs held, How are officers selected and elected to pedigree cattle breeders in Ireland. The board of ICBF contains one member from the pedigree breed council of Ireland, how is that board member selected and by what means, What expenses and remuneration are elected officers of the pedigree council and ICBF board permitted to claim.
- To ask the Minister for Agriculture how much money in total was the total CAP Budget worth for Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 for the 2023 recording year; Of the total CAP Budget in 2023 for Pillar 1 and Pillar 2,how much money was allocated to - Farmers, sub-contractors and administrators; and if he would make a statement on the matter.
- To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine The IT issues that farmers and FAS advisors experienced with BISS/Eco Scheme/CRISS/ANC applications in 2023, will the minister guarantee that farmers and FAS advisors will not experience IT issues in the 2024 BISS/Eco Scheme/CRISS/ANC application period. Will the minister make a statement on the matter.
- To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Why are farmers who are not participating in the ACRES scheme receiving interim ACRES payments of €5,000 in the bank accounts? Will the minister make a statement on the matter.
- PQ To ask the Minister for Agri why his department changed space for nature percentages for ECO scheme applications online after the applications were submitted, when the criteria to be followed and the pre determined DAFM calculations for space for nature had allowed the ECO scheme applications to pass all checks and balances prior to submission online. This IT issue has been the source of much frustration to FAS advisors and scheme applicants, who await payments.
- To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Were additional resources allocated to deal with the IT issues arising from the 2023 BISS/Eco Scheme/CRISS/ANC application period for 2024? Will the 2024 BISS application period have the IT issues that were experienced during the 2023 schemes period Were additional resources allocated to clear the backlog in 2023 payments? Will the minister make a statement on the matter.
- To ask the Minister what is the number of 2023 BISS applicants that have had DAFM IT issues with computation of space for nature percentages for both single measure ( >7% of farm area) and the ( >10% of farm area) and what number of these farmers are still without ECO payment and when will he rectify the issues
- PQ to the Minister for Agri if the IT systems and algorithms used to compute, compile and process 2023 farm payments for ACRES, BISS and ECO scheme is fit for purpose and why his department and FAS advisors are unable to finalise farm payments due to applicants within the timeframes promised by him. To ask the Minister for Agri who developed the ‘Agrisnap’ app for recording information on farms? How much of taxpayers money has the ‘Agrisnap’ app cost? Are all the IT and transfer issues fixed?
